University of Southampton Delegation Visiting WUT

  On June 14th, faculty and students exchange jointly sponsored by WUT and the University of Southampton were held in Yujiatou library. Attendees include professor William Geraint Price, Fellow of British Royal Academy, Fellow of British Royal Academy of Engineering, foreign academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and WUT strategic scientist as well as staff and students from WUT administrative offices and schools.

　　Speeches were given by Professor Price, Professor Xiong Yeping from University of Southampton, and Mr. Wang Shichao, and directors of International Office and Teaching Affairs Office, WUT respectively. Speakers confirmed the important role of promoting mutual understanding between the two universities and deepening the cooperation in marine and offshore areas. Le Jingxia, assistant dean of the School of Transportation, gave an introduction about the school.

　　Students carried out in-depth communication, displayed some technological innovation awards, and exchanged opinions on future professional exchanges and cooperation modes.

　　After that, University of Southampton delegation visited the shipbuilding technology and equipment laboratory, marine comprehensive laboratory and Navigation Museum, Wuhan Newport and Wuchang Shipyard.

　　This is the second exchange between Wuhan University of Technology and University of Southampton for faculty and students, which is beneficial for deepening the understanding and corporation between WUT-UOS as well as promoting internationalization of education.
